RULES OF THE INTERNATIONAL ANCIENT FESTIVAL "ODRYUZA, CRADLE OF THE THOUSAND CITIES"

The Historical festival "ODRYUZA, Cradle of the Thousand Cities" is an event dedicated to the recreation of the material and spiritual culture of the Thracian civilization and the state tradition of the Odrysian Kingdom (Greek: Βασίλειον Ὀδρυσῶν).

The festival takes place every year (in July), on the territory of the HISTORICAL PARK, a living history museum, built in the village of Neofit Rilski, Varna region, Bulgaria.

The organisers of the festival are "Historical Park" JSC and the "BULGARIAN SCHOOL OF ANCIENT WARFARE VELICHIE".

Participation in the Festival

The participation in the Festival can be requested by any association for historical reenactment recreating the period of Antiquity, which has submitted a request for participation in the Festival and received confirmation from the organisers of Odryuza.

Funding of the Festival

The expenses related to the preparation and program of the festival, the meals of the participants and the prize funds are provided by the Historical Park JSC.

The costs of transportation and accommodation of the participants (historical clubs and free reenactors) are financed by the participants themselves.

Accommodation of the participants

The participants in the Festival are accommodated at night outside the territory of the HISTORICAL PARK. The organisers offer overnight accommodation for a fee, in their own outsourced base, for which a prior request is required.

Participants planning to spend the night in their own tourist tents are accommodated in the designated place, near the HISTORICAL PARK.

Participants can organise their overnight stay independently, in a place of their choice.

Check-in at the overnight base and tent camp starts at 12:00 the day before the opening of the festival and ends at 8:00 in the morning on the opening day of the Festival.

All participants must register on the spot by 10:00 a.m. on the opening day of the Festival. In the event of a discrepancy between the requested participants and those actually present, a decision on the participation of the latter is made on the spot by the committee. For this purpose, all participants must have personal documents.

Photo and video operators, reporters, journalists, etc. those who wish to photograph during the Festival, go through registration and accreditation before the organisational committee.

General requirements for participants

During the festival, all participants are required to wear historical clothing that corresponds to the reenacted period. In the absence of such, they are allowed in the HISTORICAL PARK area only as visitors.

In the area of the festival dedicated to Ancient Thrace, participants are not allowed to display personal belongings or household items that do not correspond to the reconstructed period.

Persons whose clothing and weapons have not passed a reliability and safety check in use are not allowed to participate in the Thracian War Games ARETI.

Minors are allowed to participate in the festival only in the presence of their parents, guardians or custodians or upon presentation of the documents intended for the purpose.

Rewarding the participants

The participants in the Thracian War Games "ARETI" held on during the Festival, are awarded with wreaths and physical prizes.

The prize fund of the Festival is provided by "Historical Park" JSC. Participants can receive their prizes only if they have completed pre-registration upon arrival at the HISTORICAL PARK and are registered to participate in the military games at the time established for that time.
