Vth International Traditional Archery Tournament "Historical Park 2024"

Historical Park

Let's remember a little history.

The 2023 traditional archery tournament in the Historical Park gathered a record number of participants and became the most spectacular competition of this type in Bulgaria, with the most significant international participation. The ideal conditions for archery and the beautiful weather attracted many archers and spectators. The power of inspiration, sportsmanship and friendship brought together over 140 competitors from 10 countries. Archers from different parts of the globe tested their eye and skill in 17 individual disciplines and a team competition on a traditional Mongolian target.

The pursuit of the perfect shot is what drives us to improve ourselves. The essence of its achievement depends both on the combination in perfect synchronisation of posture, movement, technique, as well as on spiritual purity and the right attitude of consciousness, inner concentration, the ability to overcome one's own self.

The flight of the arrow is felt by the heart, the soul soars with it and the sound of the accurate hit is a delight to the senses of the archer.

Shooters from traditional shooting clubs, as well as individual participants from Bulgaria and the whole world, will take part in the fifth edition of this large and already traditional tournament. The participants will measure their strength in shooting with different variants of traditional bows.

As official guests of the tournament, some of the most prominent competitors in the country and the world, researchers of traditional and intuitive shooting, as well as skilled craftsmen in the making of traditional bows will be invited.

For the unbiased reporting of the results and awarding of prize places, an authoritative panel of judges will be appointed, sent by the Bulgarian Archery Federation.

In the morning of the 20th of September, the competition for the youngest archers up to 10 years of age will begin.
