One of the most inspiring vessels from the Panagyurishte treasure is the Stag Head Rhyton. Its handle is a lion with paws on the ridge of the vessel. At the base is an artfully made small female head. The horn has many embossed figurines depicting the myths of Paris and the three goddesses. We find him calmly sitting with a shepherd's staff in one hand and confidently raising the other to show that he has made his choice when asked which of the three goddesses is the most beautiful. They have surrounded him with their grace. Hera is seated on the throne where she promised him that she would make him the most powerful of kings if he chose her. On the left is Athena with a heavy sword and a shining helmet, she promised to make him the greatest hero. On the other side, the goddess of beauty and love Aphrodite with her radiant face, and she promised that Paris would have the most beautiful woman in the world.
