Sculpture of Spartacus - silver
Spartacus is the most famous freedom fighter in human history. He lead the greatest anti-slavery rebellion in ancient Rome. Spartacus was Thracian, most likely from the Medi tribe. His birthplace stands in the area of the modern day city of Sandanski. He is part of our history and a reason to be proud of our glorious origin.We know that our people were formed by Thracians, Bulgars and Slavs, and for this reason Spartacus is our hero.He was a great gladiator, general and most importantly a great man. This sculpture of the warrior was created based on the reconstruction by the late artist-historian Vladimir Dimitrov.
